Aunties on the Road Indigenous Full Spectrum DoulaCare is an Indigenous Grassroots Organization which provides First Nations, Inuit and Métis youth betweenthe ages of 12 and 30 with free reproductive and sexual health counselling and support. Their service provisionspans the traditional territory of Algonquin and Mohawk peoples, from Pembroke to Ottawa to Cornwall, including local reserve communities.
Tess, a member of Kahnawà:ke First Nation, is a founding member of Aunties on the Road and presently works as an Indigenous Midwife on and around the traditional territory of Timiskaming First Nation. Her efforts with theorganization are helping to revitalize and increase access to midwifery care. She lives in Timiskaming First Nation with her partner and is a mother to four beautiful children, who are members of Timiskaming First Nation.
